I'm Jim Falkenstern, founder of Popculturesignatures, and I've been collecting signed memorabilia most of my life. My mother had worked at Warner Brothers Studios in Hollywood during the true Golden Age of movies, witnessing the creation of such classics as "Casablanca" and "Jezebel". She was a personal secretary to Harry Warner, and was in contact with many stars there on a regular basis. That began my early awareness and interest in celebrities. My interest in rock and roll started when my older sister Carol took me to the original Paramount Theater in New York to see comedian Soupy Sales, who then had a hit with "The Mouse". This was at Eastertime in 1965, a month before my tenth birthday. Little Richard, making a comeback in rock and roll at the time, with his guitarist Jimi Hendrix, was also on the bill. Also playing were the Hollies, on their first American tour, legendary sax player King Curtis, and the Hullaballoos, a big British Invasion act. I was hooked. Rock and roll was it for me. I couldn't get enough of it. The signatures of my heroes always held a fascination for me, and I acquired what I could of them, either personally, or through a few lifelong collectors, who obtained the signatures themselves. As a passionate Yankees fan, for many years I obtained the signatures of former Yankees on hundreds of their baseball cards. I became obsessed, some might say, with autographs. My particular passion in collecting is classic rock, the Beatles and John Lennon specifically. Through associations with individuals who were truly in the right places at the right times, I have accumulated a number of exceptional autographed pieces. I had always been a collector, and have just decided to sell some of my items in the last few years. I don't plan to look for new inventory, but to offer what I've collected. I hope to offer rare, unique and unusual signed collectibles to fellow collectors at competitive prices. I will always allow an item to be returned if it was to be found by some rare chance not to be genuine.
